A premier partnership-driven leadership development initiative that empowers promising young leaders to positively impact communities, nations and the world. Emphasizing the importance of vision, service and entrepreneurship as the foundation of moral and innovative leadership, the IYLA hosts student leaders and young professionals for interactive programs with globally significant leaders and institutions. Delegates acquire first-hand experience in leadership, join a lasting global leadership network and build a platform to tackle current critical issues.
Washington Leadership Practicum
Drawing on a range of relevant, world-level institutions in Washington D.C., including US Congress, the White House, State Department, the World Bank, leading think tanks, embassies, and other international organizations, participants acquire the first-hand experience with those institutions. By engaging leaders in diplomacy, policy, and development, participants discover for themselves the processes and principles that make lasting positive impacts.
International Exchange
A program that provides unique bilateral/multilateral opportunities around the world for young leaders to engage with institutions, leaders, and peers of the hosting nations, to experience the wonders of nature and the world's diverse cultures . Participants build lasting friendships through comprehensive and deep interaction, and work together to make positive impacts on the engaged communities and beyond .
Asia Pacific Peace and Development Service Alliance
Together with UN ESCAP, UNESCO, and Global Peace Foundation, GYLA is a co-convening partner of APPDSA a youth multilateral stakeholder consortium committed to empower youth and communities through volunteerism. It was launched at United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok in October 2014 and hahad sub-regional forums and impact programs in Nepal, Mongolia, and Korea in collaboration with UN agencies, government ministries, NGOs, corporations, universities, and other partners.
Internship and Fellowship Program
GYLA offers full time and part-time internships and fellowships throughout the year. They engage in a variety of activities, including outreach, communications, database management, research, marketing, event planning, etc.
